R4. Fee Transparency

Any dog fee (as defined in RDFRG-02) must be disclosed in the published policy required under R1. The disclosed fee must state the amount and structure, whether per stay, per night, or per dog. The disclosed fee must reflect actual booking conditions. Zero is a valid answer. Fees disclosed only in a booking confirmation, at check in, or on request are not conformant.

Assessed via Q33: What is your fee for dogs?

Roch Interpretation

The fee must be in the policy with an amount and a structure. 'A small fee may apply' is not a disclosed fee. Zero is a valid answer if there genuinely is no charge.

Examples

Compliant A hotel's pet policy page states '£20 per dog per night, applied at the time of booking' and this charge appears correctly when the guest selects a dog stay in the booking flow.
Not compliant A hotel's website says 'dog stays may incur additional charges' with no amount stated; guests only learn the £35 fee when they receive the booking confirmation.
