Defined Term RDFRG-02 · Definition 11

Assessment Period

The period during which a certification remains valid. Certification under this standard is valid for 12 months from the date of issue unless withdrawn earlier under the terms of the Certification and Assessment Framework (RDCAF-02). Providers must be reassessed to maintain certified status beyond this period.

Roch Interpretation

Certification has an expiry date. A property certified in April 2025 is no longer certified after April 2026 unless it has been reassessed and passed again.

Examples

Compliant A hotel certified in June 2025 submits its reassessment application in May 2026, before the assessment period expires, and receives updated certification with a new 12 month window.
Not compliant A hotel certified in January 2025 continues to display its Roch Dog certification mark in January 2027 without having completed a reassessment.
